During a recent home inspection, we encountered a problem that isn’t uncommon: a failing chimney stack. While the roof itself was in good condition, the flashing around the stack was incomplete,  allowing water intrusion all the way into the house.

To determine the extent of the leak, we used thermal imaging, which helps reveal whether moisture is actively entering the structure. In the final image, you can clearly see the water intrusion, highlighting the importance of thorough inspections and proper flashing installation.
